All Things Optimal showcases the teaching, research, and service efforts from Carl Laird's group at Purdue University, within the School of Chemical Engineering. Our research addresses optimization solutions to important problems in science and engineering. We work on modeling languages, problem formulations, and advanced numerical algorithms. The site includes a list of current and former group members, publications, presentations, funding sources, and information about software contributions.

Bryan/College Station is a vibrant, affordable community with students comprising 1/3 of its residents. The nearest major city is Houston, arguably the countries largest supplier of chemical engineering jobs. College Station is an excellent location for your studies, and students at Texas A&M University are heavily recruited, providing promising career alternatives.
